Although I have always been interested and dabbled in herbs, my herbal medicine path began in 2000.
Two horses in my care at the time (after routine drenching- it's a long story) came down with severe liver poisoning.
Having no option but to turn to alternative medicine to save them- allopathic veterinary only having steroidal shots left in the arsenal, I contacted a well known animal herbalist.
3 large bottles of tincture later, dry herb mixes and nutrition to emphasis healing and these two coloured horses ended up saved.I then began to employ herbs daily in my animal husbandry.
I was intrigued - My herbal medicine journey had begun.
I then studied under the now defunct ACNAM in Animal Naturopathy for 4 years and after the college's closure decided that herbal medicine was exactly what I wanted to specialise in, coming over to NCTM to do my Adv Dip in Western Herb Med.
I am now nearing the end of my NCTM studies and my journey has taken another turn, as I am now combining the wonderful benefits of goats milk with herbs, through soap making and body products.
